内容記述 | This study investigated the experiences and personal perceptions about the provision and practice of learning support for ethnic minority school children (hereinafter referred to as “EMC” ) aged between 6 to 12 years of age currently enrolled in public elementary schools in a city located the Kansai region (hereafter referred to as ‘City M’ ) of Japan. 40 to 60-minute one-onone interviews were conducted with 9 participants consisting of officials from boards of education, Japanese language support teachers and senior management from public elementary schools, as well as language support volunteers in the city. This study attempts to generate theories emerging from the collected data in order interpret the voices of these participants and hope to therefore offer an explanation behind the disparity and disconnect between the providers and receivers of additional Japanese language learning support for ethnic minority school children. | |||||
