| 内容記述 | Many critics have pointed out that Charles Dicken's Bleak House lacks the unity of its world and is almost becoming a disorganized aggregation，because of its multiplied characters and the existence of the two narrators，the third-person omniscient narrator and Esther, and the two completely different plots,a Chancery plot and ESther's plot, which show no sign of their relationship until the novel is roughly halfway over. However, when we closely examine these two major plots and the role of each character, it becomes apparent that in the Chancery plot, Dickens asks us all people to realize what is needed in their missions in society，and in Esther's plot, what brings us the true happines in our own lives. That is, "love," which Dickens has an unshaken faith that has the power to make the world a better place by uniting people with sympathy, is the very theme that can integrate the two plots and the whole of the novel. From that new point of view, we can notice Bleak House is truly a unified work of art filled with human love. | |||||
