| 内容記述 | The original mean of "electricity" is an amber. The power of amber was recognized in China and Japan also. Where it was termed "KOHAKU' (amber)-RYOKU (power)". But, its power was comprehended through "KI - theory", an aspect of the traditional Chinese concept of "INYO-GOGYO-SETSU" (the positive and negative principal). When modern eastern science clarified that this power was that of static electricity, static electricity was gained the name "KI". Once it had been discovered that thunder represented same phenomonon as static electricity, speakers in both China and Japan changed the word for electricity from "KOHAKU-RYOKU" to "DENKI", where "DENKI" refers to the "KI" of thunder. Today, electricity can no longer be explained by the "KI - theory", however we continue to use the word "DENKI". This fact demonstrates the significance of the role of the "KI - theory" in comprehending electricity. 電気は十八世紀の半ばにエレキテル (略してエレキ) などの音訳語で我が国に紹介され、やがて「琥珀力」「魄力」という翻訳語が造られたが、十九世紀の半ば頃から中国で造られた「伝記」という語が用いられるようになった。「琥珀力」はラテン語ヱレクトリシテイトの正訳であり、「魄力」また「電気」は気の思想に基づく義訳である。電気の本質は、現在では気の思想でも説明し尽くせないことが明らかになっているが、我々は今なお「電気」の語が使用している。それほどに電気の理解に気の思想が果たした役割は大きいものがあったのである。 |
