| 内容記述 | Until now, plans to support people with special needs in times of disaster (PSND) have prioritized the elderly people / people with disabilities. Although infants fall under the concept of PSND, not much consideration is given to them. This paper will discuss how to provide support for people who are with infants in times of disaster. Findings from a series of interviews with women who were with twins during the typhoon No. 23 in 2004 revealed that: 1) they had no proper knowledge on how people carrying an infant should evacuate during emergencies; 2) they suffered from a feeling of alienation due to only a few existing social support system they could consult with; and 3) during recovery period, the needs for temporary childcare center was great. | |||||
