| 内容記述 | In the field of Protestant pastoral care and pastoral theology, there has been a dramatic transformation since the 1980s. Today the field of pastoral care ought to examine its postmodern consciousness and raise questions regarding how the experiences of people are shaped by who they are and the context in which they live. In this paper, the author introduces the pastoral care model of Carrie Doehring, who views pastoral care through a trifocal lenses (premodern, modern, and postmodern), and then shows how we can apply Doehring's model to the Japanese through the story of a Japanese woman living in the United States. In her concluding remarks, the author discusses the pressing issues that she faces in her practice of pastoral care and proposes possible future directions for pastoral care in the Japanese context. | |||||
