| 内容記述 | In the present study, effects of the length of the association with a friend on the perception of her personality traits were explored. Female undergraduates participated in this study. Half of the participants (N = 243) imagined a same-sex friend with whom they had been associated for two or more years. The other half (N = 225) imagined a same-sex friend with whom they had been associated for less than a month. They evaluated personality traits of their friends on 30 items constructed from Wadaʼs Big Five Scale (1996). Confirmatory factor analyses for personality trait ratings were executed (Amos 25.00). As expected, a clearer five-factor structure was found for friends of the longer associations. However, the effects of the length of the association changed with personality trait dimensions. The functions of perceptions of personality traits for partners in developing friendships were discussed. | |||||
