| 内容記述 | Recently, the Supreme Court of the United States struck down a California law that banned the sale of violent video games to minors. The Court deemed this law as a violation of free speech, which is secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. The purpose of this study is to analyze judicial precedents and theories concerning restrictions on books, movies, etc. that are considered harmful for minors. The first chapter of the paper describes the regulation of obscene expressions and of offensive material for minors in the United States. The second chapter describes and analyzes a legal case, Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association. The third chapter describes the restrictions against harmful speech enforced by the juvenile protection ordinances in Japan, and analyzes the judicial precedent concerning it. |
