| 内容記述 | In this research study, the perceived usefulness and ease of use of the QR code payment system for Japanese and Chinese female college students were compared with references to the Big Five personality traits model. The penetration rate for the QR code payment system has reached the saturation point in China, whereas Japanese early adopters have just begun to enjoy it. Japanese respondents lived in the Kansai area and Chinese respondents lived in Hefei, Anhui Province. Female college students in urban areas are supposed to be early adopters forming early majorities, which are a critical mass in the diffusion process. The findings are as follows. First, the Japanese have not recognized the usefulness of QR code payments, which the Chinese enjoy; advantages include using the system for remittances, splitting payments, and managing oneʼs purchase history. Second, there is little evidence that significantly shows the relationship between utilization of the QR code for settlements, recognition of usefulness, and personality traits in China. However, students with low levels of conscientiousness who recognize the safety of the system frequently use it to make payments. Third, the personal traits of Japanese students largely affect the perceived use and ease of use. Students high in extraversion and/or openness perceive usefulness significantly. However, students with low levels of conscientiousness and/or high levels of neuroticism are very concerned about the security of the system. |
