Homeobox family genes make up a network of transcription factors (homeoproteins) controlling embryonal development. And they have cruicial functions in somantic cells acting to determine phenotypic cell identity. In the present study, we have analyzed the expression of homeobox family genes in various adipose tisuues includin visceral and subcutaneous, and examined the expression patterns in adipocyte differentiation and adipogenesis with hyperlipidemia. Coordinate expression networks of homeobox family genes are related to characteristics and phenotypes of adipose tissues, adipocyte differentiation and adipogenesis.
