A total of six hundred students from ten departments at the DWCLA participated in the study. A questionnaire on motivation was created and employed in this study. Factor analyses produced seven factors: “Interest in the English language and English community,” “Self-efficacy,” “Positive feelings toward people or culture from English speaking regions,” “Instrumentality approach,” “For the joy of learning English,” “Ought-to second language (L2) self,” and “Anxiety of speaking English.” Students in the Department of International Studies scored the highest on the total score. They also scored the highest in the subscales, except in “Ought-to L2 self” and “Anxiety of speaking English.” There was no significant difference in the “Anxiety of speaking English” among the departments; therefore, measures are required to help students from all departments relax when speaking English. The score on “Instrumentality approach” in the Nursing Department was the lowest.
