| 内容記述 | Many people often hear or see the Japanese word oshi, meaning one’s favorite people or characters, and oshi activities on social media in Japan. This study investigated female university students’ oshi activities and the psychological impact of these activities on the students to indicate the similarities and differences in psychological effects between those who have oshi and those who do not have oshi. One hundred female university students participated in the study. A questionnaire divided into three parts was used to see whether or not they have oshi and the genre of oshi, what students’ oshi behaviors are, and their subjective well-being that signifies an appraisal of life based on personal feelings, beliefs, and experiences. Quantitative and qualitative data analyses including a factor analysis were conducted. The results showed that there was no difference in subjective well-being between students who have oshi, those who do not, and those who had oshi in the past and have no oshi now, suggesting that female university students feel happiness regardless of whether they have oshi or not. | |||||
