| 内容記述 | This study clarifies the townscape characteristics and conservation methods of Levuka, the first capital of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, which was inscribed on the World Heritage List as a historic port city in 2013. The study examines the acts and plans related to townscape conservation in Levuka and identified three issues: clarifying the townscape characteristics of each area, developing standards for each building component, and resolving the discrepancies between townscape characteristics and general provisions. An exhaustive survey of buildings and sites in Levuka was conducted to clarify the townscape characteristics linked to building use and location. Based on the results of these analyses, townscape conservation guidelines were proposed for each building type and the townscape characteristics of each area were clarified. | |||||
