The ReadinessforParenthood Scale（Nishida & Moroi, 2010）and the AnxietiesaboutAbusingown’sChild Scale developed by the authors were administered to female undergraduates（N＝249）. The factor analysis（maximum likelihood method, promax rotations）of the ReadinessforParenthood Scale indicated four factors : Concern for the child and baby, positive expectancy of a parental role, father as a role model, and anxiety about parenting in the future. By the cluster analysis（Ward’s method, squared Euclidean distance）for the AnxietiesaboutAbusingown’sChild
Scale, four clusters appeared : Violence, indifference, neglect, and intimidation. The covariance structure analysis showed that, as predicted, readiness for parenthood inhibited anxieties about abusing own’s child.
